Student Matinees

In-Person Student Matinees are BACK!

We’re delighted to invite students back into the Wells Theatre to experience live theatre once again!  Some school districts have approved field trips and we are taking bookings for our popular student matinees now.  

Dreamgirls Student Matinees

Join us for our exciting partnership with Norfolk State University Theatre Company on this marvelous production of Dreamgirls, exclusively for students, weekday mornings in April.

Early Bird Pricing Available until March 21st - $12.50 per ticket
Pricing after March 21st - $16.00 per ticket

Schools will receive one FREE adult ticket for every 10 student tickets.

COVID-19 mitigation protocols for performances may change as we continue to follow CDC guidelines for best practices.  Due to limited availability, please contact us at your earliest convenience to reserve space for your group!

A 50% deposit will be required two weeks after the contract is signed. The final balance payment is due March 31st.

Payments will be made over the phone with Box Office or by check mailed to ATTN: Education/Jordan Setzer

  • When you book a Student Matinee, you’ll unlock a FREE study guide for each performance.  

  • Plan to stay after the performance for a brief talkback with the actors and production team and hear more about the creative process.

  • You may also choose to enhance your experience by booking a Virtual or In-School interactive workshop or performance by one of our teaching artists.  See below for more information!

Actor Ryan Clemens, descendant of Mark Twain (pen-name of writer Samuel L. Clemens), brings to life the celebrated American author and humorist in this theatrical performance.
